    Facebook Pixel

A list of events we track using the Facebook Pixel

"If you’re using Facebook ads—or you plan to use them in the future—there’s one key tool you should start using right away. The Facebook Pixel will help you get the most out of your social ad budget. "

    What is the Facebook Pixel?

The Facebook pixel is code that we can place on your website. It collects data that helps you track conversions from Facebook ads, optimise ads, build targeted audiences for future ads, and re-market to people who have already taken some kind of action on your website.

You can read more about the Facebook Pixel and how to create one here: https://www.facebook.com/business/learn/facebook-ads-pixel

    Facebook Pixel Events

Specific interactions on a website will trigger certain Facebook Pixel Events. Triggering these events will send snippets of information to Facebook using the Facebook Pixel. We support the following events:

    • PageView
    • AddToCart
    • Purchase
    • ViewContent

    Please Note

For these events to work correctly, your Facebook Business Manager account must have a product catalogue setup with a list of your products. If the Pixel tries to send an event with a product it cannot find in your catalogue, the Event will not be tracked.

You can read more about how to create a catalogue here: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/1275400645914358?id=725943027795860

    PageView Event

This Event is triggered upon every time a user views a page on your website. We pass the URL of the page view recorded with every event.

    AddToCart Event

Once a customer adds a product to their basket, an AddToCart is triggered*. We pass the following information for every AddToCart event through these parameters:

    • content_type:         Set to 'product'
    • content_ids:           ID of the product added to the cart
    • value:                      Price of the item
    • currency:                Set to 'GBP'

    * The AddToCart event is only triggered when a customer adds a product using the drop-down add to basket functionality on a product page. This will not be triggered on other methods of adding to the basket E.g. Quick views on Find & Filter pages.

    Purchase Event

After a customer has completed an order and lands on the order confirmation page of your website, we send the following parameters through the Pixel:

    • value:                      Total value of the order
    • currency:                Set to 'GBP'

    ViewContent Event

This event is fired once a customer views a product page. We pass the URL of the page viewed with every event.
