Cloud MT // How do I configure eBay Global Shipping?

The Cloud MT platform offers support for retailers who make use of eBay's Global Shipping Programme to ship eBay orders placed by overseas customers.

Using this functionality, the retailer sends the shipment to eBay's despatching centre in the UK, and eBay then manage the remaining part of the shipment's journey, including any customs processes.

To use this functionality, you will firstly need to set up Global Shipping in your eBay account.  It is currently not available to all eBay accounts, so you may find you need to contact eBay for clarification and guidance on this.

You must also ensure that your postage policies in eBay are enabled for the Global Shipping Programme. At the time of writing, these policies can be found under Account Settings > Business Policies. Click 'Edit' next to the relevant policies, and check this box:

Only when you have confirmed you are enrolled in the Global Shipping Programme and checked your postage policies should you enable the option on Cloud MT.

This is applied to eBay templates, so you will need to have set up at least one eBay template.  You can do this here:

Domestic shipping for the UK is unchanged and should be set up as normal.

If you wish to enable the Global Shipping Programme on the listings that use that template, you can then click the Use Global Shipping Program checkbox and click Save Changes:

If you also have international shipping options for the same template, Global Shipping will automatically take precedence.  Keep in mind that not all items may be eligible for despatch via eBay's Global Shipping Programme - eBay do have some restrictions in place - so you may need to consider creating some international shipping options in the template, too.

If the buyer or the item is determined by eBay to be ineligible for the Global Shipping Program, the other international shipping options from the template will automatically be offered for the listing instead.

When a buyer purchases an item eligible for despatch via the Global Shipping Programme, the order will download into Cloud POS with the address of eBay's warehouse (not the buyer's address) and a parcel reference, which eBay use in their process of forwarding on the shipment to the buyer.
