    Cloud POS // What's in the November 2022 release?

    We are updating Cloud POS, here are the details of what's included in this release:


    Background Work for New POS UI

    We are overhauling the POS user interface (UI) in 2023, making it considerably faster, more responsive to different screen sizes and easier to navigate.

    Although you won’t see any changes in this release, the project is progressing at pace. We’re planning to launch the new UI in 2023, as long as development and testing continue to go well.


    Sell Multiple Gift Vouchers in a Single Transaction  *Requested by users via our Feedback Forum*

    Multiple Gift Vouchers can now be sold in a single transaction. This change allows for a single customer to buy multiple Gift Vouchers on one transaction, removing the need to process multiple transactions and payments. 

    In addition to this, we have added a new option after tendering the sale of a Gift Voucher to help manage the documents sent and printed for the customer on a per-voucher basis. 


    Add Customised Messages to Account Statements *Requested by users via our Feedback Forum*

    Account statements can now have customised text added to the footer in the same way as transaction receipts can. This text can be added and updated on the store page in the back office and can differ depending on the document type.


    Booking Reminders Now Support Showing Only the Booking Date *Requested by users via our Feedback Forum*

    We have listened to your feedback and improved the options available for booking reminder templates. 

    Currently, we support {{BookingDateTime}} as a placeholder in booking reminder emails and texts. For those who wish only to provide the booking date, we have added support for a new placeholder of {{BookingDate}} which can be used to give the date of the job only. If you want to know more about booking reminders you can read our how-to article here.

    You have full control over the message that is sent to remind customers about their booking. Following the November release, you will be able to update your templates as required. 


    Back Office General

    New Features 

    • The despatch address seen by recipients of SMS communications can now be set on the configuration page.
    • Cashier set-up now includes the option to set the cashier's preferred language. 

    Improvements

    • Matching on postcodes for eCommerce orders will now only occur for GB retailers. This is due to postcodes elsewhere covering a much greater area.
    • The layout of the transaction invoice has been improved to make it consistent with all other full-size receipts.

    Bug Fixes 

    • An error that occurs when importing a Stocktake file with invalid dates has been improved to indicate which items have an invalid date set against them. 
    • The success message shown for a customer import has been corrected to refer to the customer import rather than the item import. 
    • An error message shown when importing items will now clear once an import has succeeded. 
    • Postcode lookup improved to clear previous results if a new search was attempted for an invalid postcode.
    • Communication Templates can now be filtered by type. 
    • We have improved error handling to cover a scenario that could occur when multiple users attempted to convert the type of the same item at the same time. 
    • Corrections and updates have been made to Spanish translations following an external review.

    POS

    New Features 

    • A Gift Voucher receipt can now be printed when doing a balance check.

    Bug Fixes

    • We have improved the error message shown if attempting to create an inter-store transfer in the POS for stock that is no longer available.

    Purchase Orders

    New Features

    • We have completed background work to add US Supplier HLC in preparation for supporting ePurchase Orders for them.

    SIM

    Improvements

    • The MSRP of a linked SIM item will no longer be updated if it is 0 in the supplier file.  

    Bug Fixes

    • We have fixed a bug where importing an item belonging to an existing Matrix via SIM would fail due to a different casing of the parent item lookup code. 
    • Items imported from SIM will now have their gender set to the one provided by the supplier, rather than defaulting to male.

    Workshop Module

    Improvements

    • The list view filtering will now include orders from the end date selected.
    • Messaging has been improved when a user is trying to update an order already processed in the POS.
    • Unscheduled jobs can now be filtered to find to help find the job that needs to be scheduled.

    • The default gender when an item is created is now unisex.
    • An issue that would cause notes to not import correctly on item creation has been fixed.
    • An issue that would cause weights in pounds and ounces (US retailers) to not be set correctly when an item was created through the API has been fixed. 
    • We have improved item creation to let the user know when not all required information has been provided.
