This guide is for retailers who have a CitrusPay terminal with Model ‘Saturn 1000’ and Type ‘S1F2’. You can check this information on the back of your card terminal:
If you have a WisePOS E CitrusPay terminal, please refer to this article instead: How do I set up the dock for my CitrusPay terminal?
Unboxing the terminal
In the box you receive from CitrusLime, you will find:
- a card terminal
- a docking station
- a cable to power the terminal via the docking station (this is recommended)
- a USB cable to power the terminal directly, including a plug adaptor
You need to either:
a) Put the card terminal onto the docking station, and connect the docking station to power (this is recommended), or
b) Connect the card terminal to power directly, using the US cable (and the plug adaptor if required). You can find the connector for this on the left side of the terminal, under a protective cover.
Switching on the terminal
Power on the terminal using the power button on the left side. You will need to hold it for approximately 3 seconds.
You will then see the CitrusPay logo (and buttons for ‘Settings’ and ‘Transactions’):
Check your setup email from Citrus-Lime
You will have received an email from Citrus-Lime with the subject, ‘Your new CitrusPay Terminal is on its way.'
If this email says that you are ready to start using your terminal straight away, it's ready to use with Cloud POS.
If this email says that you need to contact the Support Team for the final setup, please contact us via phone or Live Chat. We will help you with the final setup. This should take 5-10 minutes.
Tips for using your card terminal
Terminal connections
Your card terminal has a SIM card. This means it will automatically connect to a local 3G / 4G / 5G network.
You can also connect your terminal to WiFi. To do this, press the ‘Settings’ option on your card terminal screen, then press ‘Network’. You will need a passcode. This passcode was sent to you by Citrus-Lime in the email, ‘Your new CitrusPay Terminal is on its way.’
Transactions from Cloud POS
To put transactions through your card terminal from Cloud POS, you need to use the Credit Card tender type. The payment / refund amount will then appear on the card terminal screen automatically.
If you are in Switzerland and your customer would like to pay using TWINT, you should still use the Credit Card tender type. The TWINT QR code will then appear on the card terminal screen.
Standalone payments and refunds
As a rule, all payments and refunds on your terminal should be issued from Cloud POS. However, you may occasionally encounter a scenario where you need to process a payment or refund directly on the card terminal itself. These are called ‘standalone’ payments/refunds. For example, when you first start using your card terminal, you may need to refund a transaction that was paid on a previous card terminal.
To process a standalone payment, press the blue ‘Payment’ icon in the bottom-right corner of your terminal home screen. Enter the amount, and then the customer can proceed to tap/enter their payment card. We would recommend tendering these transactions to ‘Manual Credit Card’ in Cloud POS.
Standalone refunds are found under the ‘Transactions’ menu and will require the Admin password. Please follow these steps:
1) On the card terminal, press the ‘Transactions’ button'.
2) Press ‘New transaction’.
3) Enter the transactions passcode. This is in your email ‘Your new CitrusPay Terminal is on its way.’
4) Choose ‘refund’.
5) Enter the refund amount and press ‘Continue’.
The customer can now present their card for the refund.
In Cloud POS, we would recommend using the Tender Type ‘Manual Credit Card’ for this refund.
Receipts
Please note that receipts won't print directly from your card terminal. They will print from your Cloud POS receipt printer.
Changing Settings
If you need to change your terminal settings, you will need the passcode from Citrus-Lime. This is in your email ‘Your new CitrusPay Terminal is on its way.’
Previous transactions
You can find your transaction history and daily totals from the ‘Transactions’ option on the home screen. You will need the passcode from Citrus-Lime. This is in your email ‘Your new CitrusPay Terminal is on its way.’
