When creating a courier label in Cloud POS, item prices are normally taken directly from the transaction. However, if your pricing setup requires a different value to be submitted for courier consignments — for example, to declare customs values exclusive of duties — you can configure a specific Price Level to be used instead.
This article explains how to set up the Courier Consignment Price Level in the Cloud POS Back Office.
What is the Courier Consignment Price Level?
By default, Cloud POS uses the transaction line prices when calculating the value submitted to a courier service — both for the overall order value and for any individual customs item declarations. No additional setup is required to use this standard behaviour.
The Courier Consignment Price Level setting allows you to override this, so that a specific Price Level stored against each item is used instead. This is useful where, for example, your transaction prices are inclusive of duties but your customs declarations need to reflect a duties-exclusive value.
This is an ‘opt-in’ feature
This is an opt-in feature. If no Courier Consignment Price Level has been set, Cloud POS continues to use transaction line prices exactly as before — nothing changes unless you explicitly set a value here.
How to set the Courier Consignment Price Level
1) In the Back Office, navigate to Setup and click Configuration:

2) Click the Integrations tab.
3) Expand the Courier section:

4) Use the Courier Consignment Price Level dropdown to select the Price Level you want to use for courier consignments:

5) Make sure you Save Changes to apply the change.
Make sure your items have prices set at the chosen level
When a Price Level is selected, Cloud POS will use that Price Level's value for each item in the consignment. If an item does not have a price set at the chosen level, the value submitted to the courier may be zero or incorrect. Check that your items are priced correctly at the selected level before using this setting. You can use the Price Wizard in the Back Office to calculate and apply additional Price Levels in bulk.
How the Price Level is applied
Once a Price Level is configured, it affects two values submitted to the courier service when a label is created at the Point of Sale:
• Order value — the total value of the goods being shipped, calculated as the sum of the Price-Level-adjusted values for all items in the consignment.
• Customs item values — where customs declarations are required, the per-item value submitted for each line will also reflect the configured Price Level.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this affect courier labels I've already created?
No. The setting only applies to new courier labels created after the change is saved. Existing labels are not affected.
Does this affect the price charged to the customer at the Point of Sale?
No. This setting only controls the value submitted to the courier service for the purposes of the consignment and customs declarations. It does not change the price shown to the customer or the amount taken at the Point of Sale.
Do I need to set this if I don't ship internationally?
No. This setting is only necessary if you need to submit a different price to your courier than the transaction line price — for example, to provide duties-exclusive customs values for international shipments. If your current courier setup works correctly, you do not need to change anything.
