Workshop 2.0 // How do I show mechanics as on holiday?

Blocking out holidays on the calendar

This article describes how to show a mechanic as on holiday, to help you manage the workload and availability of your mechanics.

    Showing Mechanics as on Holiday

    1) In the Workshop Module, click on the Holidays tab at the top of the screen:

    2) Click on the New button in the top left:

    3) Use the Mechanic dropdown menu to select a specific mechanic. If you don't select a mechanic, all mechanics will be marked as on holiday. In the example below, we are setting one of the mechanics as on holiday today from 10am til 5pm:

This will then display in the calendar as below:

If you set a holiday that spans a number of days, you will see a bar at the top of the calendar to indicate this, as shown below:

    4) If you need to change the dates or times of a holiday, you can click on the holiday and click Edit.

This will open up the options for that holiday at the top of the page.

    4) To delete a holiday, go to the Holidays tab and find the holiday in question – you can use the filters at the top to help narrow it down if you need to. Click on the Actions button on the left, then click on Delete Holiday.

Jobs can still be booked during Mechanic Holidays

It is worth noting that having a holiday set does NOT stop you from scheduling jobs for that mechanic within that holiday time frame.  It is purely a visual reference to indicate that you should not be booking in work for that mechanic over that period of time.
