Each of your new card payment terminals is protected by two separate passcodes, and offers three main options on its home screen: Settings, Transactions, and Payments. This article explains what each passcode is for, what you can do from each icon, and how refunds work on the new terminals.
This article covers the following topics:
- Your terminal passcodes
- Using the Payments icon
- Using the Transactions icon
- Refunding a transaction taken on your new terminal
Your terminal passcodes
Each terminal has two passcodes, and each one unlocks a different set of options:
(These will be sent over in an email)
- Transactions passcode — gives you access to additional transaction features, such as standalone payments and refunds.
- Settings & Admin passcode — gives you access to the device's admin and settings.
You'll see three icons on the terminal's home screen: Settings, Transactions, and Payment:

Using the Payments icon
The Payments icon lets you process a manual payment if your till system fails or your store's internet connection goes down. No passcode is needed to use this option.
Using the Transactions icon
Tapping Transactions gives you three options: History, New transaction, and Totals. All require the Transactions passcode.
1) Tap Transactions on the terminal's home screen.
2) Choose History, New transaction or View totals, depending on what you need to do.
3) Enter the Transactions passcode when prompted.

History lets you view list of past transactions
New transaction lets you process a standalone transaction. This is particularly important while you're transitioning over to the new terminals — if a customer needs a refund for something originally paid on the old Dojo terminal, you'll need to process this as a standalone refund here, using the Transactions passcode.
View totals lets you view an X report from the terminal, and reset the totals at the end of each day.
Refunding a transaction taken on your new terminal
When you're refunding a transaction that was originally taken on one of the new terminals, the customer's card does not need to be present. The terminal automatically refunds the card that was used and processes the transaction for you.
