Workshop Module // How do I use the Board view in the Workshop Module?

The default view in Workshop 2.0 is the Board view – designed to mimic a T card system or a Kanban board, this view allows you to better keep track of what stage each workshop job is at e.g. Awaiting Parts, On Hold, Working On, Ready to Collect etc.

    Using the Board View

    1) In the Board View, jobs are organised into columns by Order Status. You can create your own Order Statuses in the Back Office, and you can choose which ones you want to appear on the Workshop Board using this tickbox:

You can also control the order of the Statuses on the board by assigning them a Board Display Order.

    2) To change the status of a job, simply drag it from one column to another.

    3) At the top of each column, you can see the total revenue of the jobs in that column – this can help give you an idea of what to focus on, e.g. if you have a lot of revenue sitting in Awaiting Parts, that would probably suggest that you should put in some Purchase Orders with your suppliers:

    4) If a job is overdue, it will be outlined in red (like the two jobs in the image above). There'll also be a little alarm bell icon in the bottom right.

    5) The cards for each workshop job on the board contain a lot of useful information:

    6) You can search for a particular job on the board using the search bar at the top – you can search by Order Number, Order Reference, Customer Name or Service Item:

    7) As a mechanic, you can click on your initials next to the search bar to only see the jobs that have been assigned to you:

You can also group the jobs on the board by mechanic, using the Group by Mechanic button in the top left. This will reorganise the jobs so that each mechanic has their own row. For example, all of Tahnee's jobs are now in the top row, and all of Jackson's jobs are in the row beneath:

    8) You can filter the jobs to only see Bike Builds, Checked In Jobs, or Overdue Jobs using the buttons at the top:

You can also choose to Show or Hide Completed Jobs on the board, as shown above – Completed Jobs will have a green background.
