Workshop Module // How do I create and manage Storage Slots?

One of the new features we've added into Workshop 2.0 is Storage Slots. These allow you to assign a storage slot to a job, so you can specify which ceiling hook or section of racking the job is physically located on, to make it more efficient for your mechanics to manage their workload.

Creating a Storage Slot in the Back Office

    1) In the Back Office main menu, expand the Workshop heading and click on Workshop Storage Slots.

    2) Click on New in the top left:

    3) Fill in the Name and Zone of the slot, and choose the relevant store from the dropdown. Then click Save:

The slot you just created will then appear in the list of Storage Slots. You can use this page to see which slots have jobs assigned to them, and which are free.

    4) You can edit a Storage Slot just by clicking on the blue pencil icon next to it. Or you can delete a Storage Slot by clicking on the red Delete icon:

You cannot delete a Storage Slot if it currently has a job assigned to it – if a job is assigned to a Storage Slot, the Delete icon will be unavailable.

    5) You can use this page to see which Storage Slots are occupied, using the Assigned? column. You can also see which Service Items are currently occupying to those slots:

    6) If you want to move a job to a different storage slot, just click on the Order Number in blue to open that job in the Workshop Module.
