How can I remove cost prices from my items?

Using wizards to remove cost prices from items in bulk

Items imported from SIM will automatically have a cost price as part of their item record.

This appears in two places - in the Inventory table, and the Supplier table, both shown here:

If you want to remove these cost prices, follow the steps below.

    Warning

Following these steps will strip all cost price information from the items you select in the wizards. This should only be done if you are absolutely sure you want to remove cost prices from your Cloud POS database. Remember this will mean reports such as the Current Stock Value Report in Cloud Reports are now far less useful to you.

Step 1: Use the Supplier Information Wizard

    1) After importing the items into your Cloud POS Back Office from SIM, navigate to Wizards & Imports in the menu.

    2) Click on Supplier Wizards at the top, then on Create Wizard on the Supplier Information Wizard.

    3) Choose how you'd like to create your wizard – in this example, we're using Search and Select Items.

    4) Find the Cost column in the grid, and click on the = button to change the filter type to Greater than >. Then type 0.00 into the column header (see below) and hit Enter on your keyboard.

    Note

If you can't see 'Cost' in the list of columns, you will need to add it to your wizard first by using the ‘Manage View’ button in the top right.

Your filter will now have been applied to the wizard.

    5) If you are stripping out all cost prices, use the Select All button in the top left, to select all of your filtered results.

    6) Click Create Wizard in the top right to proceed to the editing stage of the wizard.

    7) At the top of the Supplier Cost column, click Modify All:

    8) In the pop-up box, set this value to 0, and then click Apply to All.

    9) If you are sure you want to proceed, click Commit Changes, and this will remove the Supplier Cost from those items.

Step 2: Use the Revalue Stock (Cost Prices) Wizard

    1) Navigate back to Wizards, and find the Revalue Stock (Cost Prices) Wizard under Store Wizards.

    2) Select All Stores from the drop-down, and then Search & Select Items.

    3) If you do this immediately after the Supplier Information Wizard, it will remember your previous Cost Greater than 0 filter.

    4) Select the items you would like to work with, and then click Create Wizard in the top right.

    5) At the top of the Cost Price column, click Modify All:

    6) Leave the selection at Fixed Cost, and set the value to 0. Click Apply to All.

    7) If you are sure you want to proceed, click Commit Changes, and this will remove the Cost Price from those items.
