Back Office 2.0 // How do I edit a comment or note on a customer's order?

You can edit a comment on a customer order in the Back Office, without logging into the Point of Sale

You can add or edit a comment or note on a Customer Order directly from the Back Office, without needing to open the order in Point of Sale.

Editing an order comment or note

    1) In the Back Office menu, navigate to Customer Orders and click Customer Orders.

    2) Find the order you want to edit, then click Actions on that order's row.

    3) In the Order Actions pop-up, click View / Edit Order Notes:

    4) This opens the Order Comment window. Here you can:

    - Enter or edit text in Set Receipt Comment to add a comment that will show on the order's receipt.

    - Type into Order Notes and click Add Note to add an internal note to the order.

    5) Click Save to save your changes.

Want to send a message to the customer instead?

'Order Notes' and 'Set Receipt Comment' are only for internal reference and receipt text respectively – they are not sent as a message to the customer. To send the customer a message about their order, use Customer Communication from the same Order Actions pop-up instead.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a Receipt Comment and an Order Note?

'Set Receipt Comment' appears on the order's receipt, so use it for anything you want printed or shown alongside the order. 'Order Notes' are for your own reference and are not shown on the receipt.

Can I edit a note after I've added it?

You can edit a receipt comment, but not an order note. Go back into 'View / Edit Order Notes' from the Order Actions pop-up at any time to review the notes or update the order's receipt comment.
