eCommerce // What's in the 1st October release?

We are updating Citrus-Lime eCommerce and Cloud MT. Here are the details of what to expect in this release:

    More Control

Collections Overhaul : Now Available in CloudMT

We’re extending the power of Collections in Cloud MT, allowing retailers to use them not only as traditional product groupings but also as simple content pages. This evolution transforms Collections into a flexible, CMS-like tool that makes it easier to manage pages, products, and SEO in one central place.

The update introduces clearer UI guidance with helpful explanations for collection names and titles, along with visual enhancements such as header image previews and a new preview button that lets you see collections on-site, even before they go live. Retailers can also tag and group collections for display under a shared URL, while adding or removing items directly within the collection itself for a faster, more intuitive workflow.

To strengthen SEO performance, we’ve added support for custom meta descriptions, canonical URLs, and parent collections, and inactive collections will now automatically redirect to the homepage instead of serving a 404. Altogether, these changes provide retailers with greater control, improved clarity, and a streamlined way to build richer, more engaging customer experiences.

    eCommerce

    New Features

    • We’ve added functionality to checkout so baskets are uploaded to marketing platforms as soon as a customer enters their email, ensuring basket abandonment campaigns still work even if a user isn't signed in.
    • The Country of Origin variable has been added to the Product Universal Variables to enhance product information available to third-party integrations. The currency code is now also dynamic, based on the site's currency.
    • Upgraded the country and state fields in the Checkout to searchable selects, making it faster and easier for customers to fill out their address.
    • Order despatch emails will now be sent directly from your ecommerce store. More work is planned in to improve the display of these emails as part of the another release in 2025.
    • We’ve introduced a new Order Information page in customer accounts, providing clearer order details, improved tracking visibility, and a smoother post-purchase experience.
    • Added the ability to link a Collection to the basket page in Cloud MT, helping retailers showcase complementary products at checkout to boost sales and enhance the customer experience.

    Improvements

    • When the Delivery shipping method is the only option available for an item, it will be pre-selected.
    • Improved finance checkout workflow by enhancing logging, ensuring finance applications complete reliably with clearer validation for support.

    Bug Fixes

    • DPD location selection now clears if an item is added to the basket where DPD pick up is blocked.
    • We’ve fixed an issue where negative reward balances were displayed in customer accounts; these now default to zero.
    • Restored support for secondary email addresses on order confirmations.
    • Resolved an issue where products excluded from a site could still be accessed and purchased, ensuring site exclusions now work exactly as intended.
    • We’ve fixed a styling issue in the credit card 3D secure checkout flow.
    • Fixed an issue where the cart was not clearing after a user checked out if the site was integrated with Omnisend.
    • Resolved an issue with Omnisend order uploads to ensure orders with matrix items are now posted correctly with all order lines.
    • We’ve ensured GDPR consent is now correctly recorded for guest checkouts, so marketing opt-ins are properly respected and passed to integrations like Omnisend and MailChimp.

    CloudMT

    New Features

    • Inactive products can now be set as colour group masters, making it easier to stage future ranges and manage product setups without extra steps or duplication.
    • The sending of despatch confirmation emails can now be configured on or off from within Cloud MT, forming part of standard platform functionality rather than requiring external integrations. Emails will contain order tracking and a summary.

    Improvements

    • We’ve improved the Specific URL redirect option in Cloud MT so values are now displayed consistently in the UI, preventing confusion when switching between redirect types.
    • Related Items and Find & Filter options are now cleared upon archiving a product, making item management more efficient.
