How do I use a deposit to fully pay for an item on a multi-item order?

How do I use a deposit to fully pay for an item on a multi item order.

The system does not allow you to pay for one item from an order using just money from the deposit, it does this to make sure that the correct percentage of the deposit is retained across all items that are left on the order.

The only way that you could do this would be to remove all items from the existing order, effectively refunding the deposit as cash into the till.

You would then create one order for the remaining items and add the deposit to this order minus the value needed to cover the item the customer is taking with them.

You would then create another transaction for the item being taken away using the cash tender type to use the remaining balance of the deposit that had previously been refunded.

Having explained this, we would recommend that it is much easier to use the system as designed and just explain to the customer that the system will not allow one item to be collected from the order without taking a small balance amount from the customer so that the correct percentage of deposit is left on the remaining items on the transaction.
